Seafood Izakaya At Shinjuku

My Japanese friend Anna brought me to a ridiculously good seafood izakaya a couple of weeks ago. This place, called Takamarusengyoten, is very local and has no English menus, but it’s one of the most authentic, delicious places I’ve been to in Japan!

It’s pretty packed all the time, so you’ll need to make a reservation before going there. Once we had the food there, it was easy to see why it was so popular!

Fresh ebi to start.
Sweet egg roll!
The freshest seafood I’ve tasted in a long, long while.
Seriously, just look at how amazing (and abundant!) all this fish is!
Fish, in cooked form this time.
Avocado salmon salad, a perfect complement to each other.
YOU MUST ORDER THIS if you come here. Fried balls made of cream and crab!
You might even find yourself ordering more servings because it’s so good…
