Poporare – Cosy Italian In Shibuya

I love restaurants like Poporare. It’s small, cosy, and has a nice, little neighbourhood feeling attached to it. The food is great, and I often bring my friends here. When my boyfriend’s parents came down, we also brought them here quite a few times!

Before we let the food do the talking, do note that this restaurant doesn’t have any English menus. We usually operate with the help of Google Translate, and sometimes, there is a waitress who can speak English there. Don’t let this deter you though! Everyone’s very nice, and as long as you have a phone with an Internet connection you will be able to translate and order whatever you like!

Now, for the food! There were four of us there that night- my good friend Aurore and her husband Alexandre, my boyfriend and I.

Here’s what we had!

Ahijo - my favourite! Prawns in olive oil and garlic. Super hot when it first arrives and will scald your tongue, but SO delicious!

A little pork chop. Tasty, but didn't fill me up. I needed more food!

Half and half pizza. Tomato and ham on one side, cheese on the other!

Food tastes as good as it looks. If you go here, I recommend you have the omakase set, which I’ve written about previously. It’s TONS of food, it will stuff you up like there’s no tomorrow and it’s delicious!
